As in the Loire and Chablis, this wine has a smoky, flinty overlay.

An excellent New Zealand Chardonnay that with its smoky and flinty character is a bit reminiscent of Chablis. It has delicate nectarine and melon fruit flavours and gentle buttery and slightly creamy texture resulting from some new oak influence. Enjoy with seafood, chicken or pork.

The Chardonnay vines are grown on dry stony old river beds in the Marlborough region send their roots deep to seek out moisture and nutrients. In the process they absorb tiny amounts of minerals.
