… on opening, whoosh, massive foam, a breasting of the finishing tape, though the mousse settled down quickly to give good bubbles. On the palate, balanced acidity with lemon notes, with a hint of biscuit and toast on the finish. It will give you a good run for the money. (2005 vintage) Graham Gendall Norton, The Church of England Newspaper, 8 August 2008
Ridgeview in the West Sussex has become a byword for world-class English sparkling wine and this vintage blend of champagne grapes is no exception, with its superb aromatic intensity, its lively richly textured mousse of foaming bubbles and appetisingly crisp dry finish. (2006 vintage) Anthony Rose, The Independent, 15 November 2008

    Waitrose customer reviews

I purchased my Merret just over a month ago and have so far tasted three bottles. Just one was slightly below par with a foistiness on the nose at first which disappeared with time and the taste also soon recovered its poise. Could not detect problem on cork. I am in the process of ordering some more online as your shops are slightly far for casual shopping. I like to show my friends that English producers can make good sparkling. ML, Huddersfield
