Grüner Veltliner is Austria's foremost white grape variety, with aromas similar to Pinot Gris.

The Felsner family have a small estate in one of the best dry wine regions - Kremstal - and they produce this generous white wine that is a versatile match to almost any sort of food. Try with cheese, pork casseroles, duck or guinea fowl.

In the press:

"...tasty, hand-harvested, high, terraced single vineyard grüner veltliner from a still family-run estate in the Kremstal region of Austria that overlooks the northern bank of the Danube...it overflows with elegant, spicy, white pepper-sprinkled peach and apricot fruit."
Jane MacQuitty, The Times, 19 June 2010 (2009 vintage)

I have a real soft spot for Austrian whites, especially those made from the grüner veltliner grape. This is a good example, with fresh, citrussy fruit backed up by some white pepper and spice notes. Jamie Goode, Sunday Express, 28 February 2010 (2008 vintage)

    Waitrose customer reviews

I had never heard of this grape variety until recently but I was pleasantly surprised by its taste, and it suited our salmon and cream sauce perfectly. DT, Oxfordshire
I'm a great fan of Alsace pinot gris, and was really taken with the similar balance of fruit/acid/etc in this wine … Light enough to drink on its own, but also good with fish, chicken, etc. AM, London
