In the press: “…pungently herbal and mouthwateringly crisp.”
Anthony Rose, The Independent, 16 April 2011 (2010 vintage)

“Pure, zinging, deft, graceful, elegant and refreshing. What more do you want? From an impressive South African outfit in cool climate Elgin, this zippy white is enough to make all citrus fruit feel wimpish by comparison.”
Olly Smith, The Mail on Sunday, 5 September 2010 (2009 vintage)

Among the Cape’s best Sauvignons, this is cool and elegant with notes of citrus and elderflower. (2007 vintage) Tim Atkin, The Observer, 14 September
Nettley and rather French, this is a Sauvignon Blanc with refinement and a certain cool charm. (2007 vintage) Victorian Moore, The Guardian, 20 September 2008
Elgin used to be an apple area, but this intense unoaked Sauvignon Blanc is taut and refreshing with stony flavours that wouldn’t look out of place in Sancerre. (2007 vintage) Tim Atkin, Woman & Home, 1 December 2008
… one of the best, if not the best sub-£10 cape sauvignon blanc out there. It blasted on to my tasting table ages ago, and has been awaiting a high-street listing ever since. Unsurprisingly, Waitrose’s buyers have succumbed to Iona’s intense, herby, zesty, gooseberry and green bean-charged charms, and at this price it’s a steal. (2007 vintage) Jane MacQuitty, The Times, 6 December 2008

    Waitrose customer reviews

Well done Waitrose for stocking this excellent Sauvignon Blanc from Iona. My wife and I first had this wine at a restaurant in Hermanus in the Cape. The wine shows a balanced acidity with grapefruit and gooseberry flavours with just a dash of lime leaf. It has a long finish which is bone dry on the palate. Keep up the good work Andrew Gunn of Iona, you have a convert. TP, Stratford-upon-Avon
