A top-class claret from the somewhat underrated Premières Côtes de Blaye region. In the press: “Lovely intensity and chunky structure here from mainly Merlot, the grape variety behind Petrus. This wine isn’t so much fruity as savoury - if you adore the flavour of soy sauce, it’s worth sampling this classic wine from Bordeaux.”
Olly Smith, The Mail on Sunday, 23 October 2011 (2009 vintage)

Great Wine! I drank this with spaghetti bolognese and enjoyed its fruity taste. MJ, London
Bought a bottle by chance in my local Waitrose store. It accompanied a tasty piece of scotch rib roast beef with new Jersey potatoes and spinach perfectly well. We found the wine very mellow and well rounded, so have ordered a case. RC, Whetstone, London
This is an amazing wine for the price. I enjoyed it with my Father over a rather long Sunday lunch, and quite frankly, it was one of the best reds I have tasted in years. Lovely colour and long smooth finish; I could not recommend it enough. MM, Wokingham
...there is a lot to admire on the nose and palate. A very good wine indeed - balanced and complex. R, London
